Sleeping out

Yesterday, after Patrick's bithday party at the water park, we drove to Murrieta to stay with some friends.

Alessandra slept on the way there and the kids went to sleep pretty easily (and early)... which left us some time to enjoy the Jacuzzi and some movies.

Alessandra woke up once during the night but went back to sleep again pretty easily.. I was worried that it would mess our " training" but everything went smoothly.

We came back home around 10 am Sunday morning and Julianna was not feeling very well. She is watching a dinosaur movie now with her favorite blanket and her Mr. Moo. Meanwhile, Alessandra is walking around the house with a big smile and trying to find things to put in her mouth.

We are going to the park later with Julianna's friend Kelley from school.

It was fun to go to Laura and Skrat's house; it is a beautiful place and they seem very happy.

Sleeping through the night

Julianna’s grandpa was here for her birthday… it was very nice to have him over.
He was able to spend some time with Julianna and I think they bonded very well. Julianna keep saying that she misses him.
Ken left a present on his bed before he left and the next morning, she founded and said that it was very sweet of him.

While Julianna is getting a lot easier, Alessandra is getting harder. She wants to see everything, touch everything and on top of that, she started walking last week so she wants to go everywhere.

Tonight will be the third night that we are “retraining” Alessandra to sleep through the night. She was doing very well, only waking up at 5am for a feeding. But then, she started teething. I was worried that she was in pain so I started feeding at night. Since I was very tired, I kept bringing her to sleep with me and … one day after the other… she got used to that and was waking up 3 times during the night.
I started the pick up and put down system … with the “Baby Whisperer” book. The last 2 days was brutal and I am hoping that today, she will start learning how to soothe herself.

Julianna's birthday party

Ok.. Julianna is now 4 years old and we celebrated her birthday party on Saturday, April 18. Cyndy helped me make the cake and it looked very cute. I decorated the cake table and also put a lot of balloons on the living room where Tinker Bell read stories to the kids. When Tinker Bell arrived, all the kids surrounded her. I was a little disappointed with her looks, she was older than I expected ( I know it is kind of mean). I was so happy with Snow White last birthday that I expected more.
We had 20 kids in my house and Julianna was really enjoying every minute of it. It is very cute how she interact with her friends. She is very bossy and tell them what to do. After opening the presents she told me that she had something to say to all her friends and she thanked them for coming.
Ah.. after the 1st time her friends sang Happy Birthday, she asked them to sing again...she loves being the center of attention

The beginning

I've been following my friend's blog and I can't help feeling that my kids are missing out. I really want them to have a record of what happened in their life when they were young.

Everyday something fun happens and I am always afraid that the day that they grow up will come and I will forget these wonderful moments. I've tried to keep a scrapbook, but I am so behind that by the time I get to the latest pictures, I will forget what has happened.

The difference between my friends' blog and mine is that she is a writer and she can write very funny and beautiful things. I am not a writer and on the contrary, I am sure that I will misspell a lot of words during my journals.

Julianna and Alessandra, this is for you. I am not really sure if you will appreciate this as much but I will enjoy reliving this amazing period of my life.
